My parents bought all my siblings first cars, and paid for part of mine... I think it makes kids more appreciative if they help pay for it, and makes parents more apt to help if the child is really saving for a car.

My parents gave me a car but it was my dad's old 86 Toyota that he doesn't drive anymore

Ford fiesta was my first car. It half brought my my parents as a birthday present. I paid for my driving lessons. I love driving!
