I'm curious about the religion of the Spartans and the ways in which it was similar or dissimilar to the religion of other Greeks (the Athenians, for example). (This is not for homework; I'm well past that stage, having been out of grad school for a number of years now.) I'm familiar with many of the ancient Greek playwrights, poets, etc., and know that the Spartans put great emphasis on military training, but am curious as to the role that religion played in the lives of the Spartans and whether or not they appear to have believed in an afterlife.
