Did the e-mail I sent from my Blackberry really send?

So, I replied to some e-mails I got from my Blackberry. It said that it send, but when I check the sent box in my e-mail on my computer or iPod Touch, there is no e-mail there saying I sent it, so did it really send? I find this strange. This was my first time sending an e-mail from my phone. This is my first Blackberry.
This is AOL e-mail, by-the-way.
