Most people don't even realize the major influence it has on their minds/lives... It's actually pretty scary when you consider how many kids are left to sit and stare at their screens for hours on end. :|

Just thought I'd add that I'm not referring to violence and language in particular, but the way that it teaches people to be followers. It tells us what's funny (laugh tracks anyone?), who to idolize, how to live, how to look, what to buy, etc. Who needs to think for themselves anymore when we can all just follow the ideas of producers/script writers and TV personalities?
