consequences and choose to ruin Dimmsdale? Those who have read The Scarlet Letter know that Roger Chillingworth was an evil man. We know that he became a leech towards Dimmsdale and literally took the life out of him as a means of revenge.
What my question is, is in the story did Chillingworth ever think his situation out? Did he chose a life of vengeance despite thinking the over the consequences?
Did he reject his conscience? Or did he just become this vengeful leech?
