Ive lived in a home for a couple months now, and I pay rent weekly and Ive never been late. The home has an upper level and a lower and i live on the bottom. I contantly hear stomping and dogs running around on their wood floors barking, but I am not allowed to have pets (sounds unfair). The other night, apparently my upper nieghbors told my landlord that they couldnt sleep because I had a huge party going on. There was absolutely no party, not even alcohol. And on top of that they said there were 7 or 10 cars in my drive way. You can fit 2 cars max, so there would have had to been cars lined down the street. There were 3 vehicles total of those at my house, and inside I believe there were 4 people. We basically just hung out and talked and laughed and we didnt even turn music on, so there was nothing loud going on.
The next day my landloard comes to my house and says that the neighbors had complaints and Im going to have to keep it down and put a stop to all the traffic (because he assumed there were really 10 cars there). I explained what REALLY happened but it didnt matter. I go to work that day and I get a call that my friend stopped by to play some xbox and my landlord stopped him in the driveway and told him hes trespassing and not to come back or hes calling the law. Later that day my girlfriend stops by and the same happens to her. I get home that night and he comes over to talk to me and has this list of license plate numbers of everyone who has been there throughout the day and said hes considering turning it into the police. There were no rude comments coming from me, I just took this lecture and agreed to what he said just to keep from making the situation worse. He proceeded to cuss and tell me that I have a week to get my things out and anything thats left inside by the end of the week is his and hes pad locking the door shut and if i try to get in and get anything he will call the police "and my dumbas* will be sitting in jail thinkin what the hell was i thinkin?" Those were his exact words. But like I said, no previous warning, this all happened in one day, and he said that I have exactly one week to get what I can out and find somewhere else to live. I just want to know what all I could do with this situation. Im not exactly wanting to sue him because thats a lot of work, but anything to prove him wrong. Im not interested and staying there, but i didnt know if theres a way to get more time. So many people are saying he broke many laws just in that conversation, I just want someone to clarify please. No where on the lease does it say Im not to have company, but thats what hes pushing now. Anything can help. Thank you so much for reading!!!
