I just asked a similar question about my jeep but now I am fearing that the head gasket might be blown and/or my motor is locked up. So when I was driving down the highway it just died on me with no warning or anything. The oil is in the "safe" zone on the dipstick and it doesnt have a milky color to it. But when the car stopped on me on the highway I popped the hood and 1. the overflow tank which I had filled with water before the 2 hour trip had been taken down about two thirds 2. there was a faint white smoke coming from the engine area (I think. it was just a faint white smoke floating around) 3. the radiator cap had a little bit of steam coming from under it. It kinda looked like it whatever was under it was really hot. So when I tried to start it all I get was one click noise and then nothing. The starter didnt turn over or anything. All the headlights and lights in the car and radio came on perfectly and didnt dim when I would hit the ignition. All i get is one click. Did the headgasket blow? did my motor lock up? please any help would be good. Im tired of getting ripped off by mechanics in this janky town.
