Did Lincoln know when he freed the slaves that we would get them south of the border?

Much more cost effective and profitable to salt the border with crumbs and have the people walk accrossed. Than buying people from the Africans loading them into a ship bringing them over and nursing them back to health before selling them.

Um.... the demand for cheap dependable labor can be reduced if folks like you would get out of the basement and do the jobs on the folks south of the border are willing to perform for such little pay. Believe it or not, but their standard of living goes up when they take those jobs.

He only did that to win the war, and only freed slaves in the south. (Maryland still had slavery).
