Did India have aircraft in ancient time?

An indian friend of mine insists that India had aircraft thousands of years ago (as well as more advanced medical technology). Is this true?
 
i am sure that indian guy belongs to the cult called Hinduism. they have so many ridiculous stuffs in their holy books that even majority of hindoos dont believe. the aircraft he is referring to is called Pushpaka vimana and there is no historical evidence to back it.
 
Hindu Medical techonology is well known and accepted, the Kama Sutra is not all about sex, but there is no evidance of aircraft in ancient times
 
The chinese had a glider in ancient times, but they never did anything with it.

Never heard of indians having aircraft. It would definately have been recorded in history of aeronautics or aviation.

Heh, the "vimana". That one exists as much as griffons.
