I drive a sports car that's very, very low to the ground. So obviously it's bad in the snow. About a week ago, I was in a hurry and wanted to back my car out of my driveway without shoveling the snow because I had shoveled it so many times already that week and it kept snowing, so I was tired of shoveling. Anyway, there was a huge collection of gigantic masses of what I thought was snow at the end of my driveway, so I figured I would just gun it and use that momentum to get through the "snow" and get onto the street.
So, I threw it in reverse and put the pedal down. It turned out the massive boulders of white and grey that I thought was snow was actually solid ice. (Stupid, I know.) There was a lot of loud crunching and what I thought was metallic snapping and breaking sounds under my car. It was BAD. And I got stuck, so I ended up having to shovel anyway.
Now whenever I'm driving my car, it creaks and squeaks underneath like it's falling apart, and it's a brand new car and it's never sounded like that before. Is that just because it's so cold outside, or did I mess something up down there?
