Did his observation of the fleece help his faith or prevent his belief ?
Was he actually testing God, or was he appealing to the Lord's understanding of his need for confirmation before action?
And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew. Jdg 6:39
Did he invoke the miraculous, or did the Miraculous Lord inspire his faith filled inquiry?
Asking for God to prove himself can appear to be testing God...but what if such a wonderful and loving Father welcomes such proof?
Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].
