Why do some Christians think that the bible started civilization? I'm afraid it took a book to make you realize killing, stealing is bad?

It took God for us to realize these things are bad. If we look at example that we evolved then we are under natural law. The herding instinct which gives us the desire to help each other then the instinct for survival. The latter has been proven to be the stronger of the two. It is the part of us that will override either of these to do what is good not what is best for us as individuals that God has given us. Some people call it a conscience some call it morality. It is doing what is best for others. It cannot be explained away by natural law and is uniquely human.

Nah. Civilization started with Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, and the Ganges region. Not with a book that was written over a period of hundreds of years by numerous people.

rofl. No, not in the least. The Greeks and Romans started civilization as we know it today. Though even they didn't start civilization.

People were around and living prosperously far before religion itself was around, let alone Christianity. Christianity came wayyyy after many other religions.

No, there are civilisations that significantly pre-date christianity.

Examples: Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Aztec and Mayan, Native American, Inuit... the list is huge.

Civilization began with the art of writing.

Most say it began with the building of cities (by definition), but the building of cities didn't start until writing gave the impetus of organized labor.
