Did anyone else find French President Nicolas Sarkozy's comment about money pledge

for the banks unnecessary? He said "United Europe has pledged more than the United States" which is true, 6 European countries have pledged $2.3 trillion. Europe's largest economy, Germany is pledging $671 billion and France is pledging $491 billion, while the United States has pledged $700 billion. I feel it's a pretty boorish thing to say considering he's comparing 6 countries to one country, of which, his own country pledged just over half of what the United States had.
