I have to write a huge paper on post civil war authors and their works, but my professor wanted us to answer the question I posted above as well. I am not exactly sure how to answer it though. Have Americans learned anything from the civil war? And if so, what have they learned. I know this question can be a matter of opinion, but I'd really like to hear what people think about it. Thanks.
