Hi there,

Basically I want to use my siemens dictaphone for recording interviews with my clients. Unfortunately so far I have not been very successful as the sound volume is quite low. Is there any way to do that - ie. by attaching some form of a microphone etc.?

I just don't want to end up buying a separate mp3 dictaphone device to do my job when I have this great phone.

I also noticed that some users are able to use the dictaphone for such purposes and even for recording telephone calls while they are using the phone. I've tried the siemens customers service here in UK but they are so ignorant it makes you wonder why siemens pays them at all.

Anyway, I would be grateful for any help.

Thanks

Yanni

There was one proggy to make WMO>>WAV, and there are included function to make a record louder..

To make a record while You calling, just press rec button on the left side on Your phone..

Thanks for the info. But I've come across this programme and probably it would be helpful as you suggested but the idea is to be able to use the dictaphone to start with in a such a way where recording (one-to-one / interview like) would be possible.

if anyone else knows how to do it or has any ideas I would be most grateful.

regards,

Yanni

You may want to try hands free accessories. All those headphones (single and those in pair) have a microphone which can be useful for what you need it.
I would go even further..would buy single headphone hands free (they are pretty much the same for all Siemens' models), cut off that headphone, thus leaving only a cord to the mic, which you can place wherever you want (as a real mic)

Hi Voyager.

I was thinking of something along these lines. But the only problem is that the headphone microphone is not very sensitive itself to record a conversation in a room...is it???

Would it be possible to do something along these lines and attach a microphone that is sensitive enough? And if yes how would you go about it???

cheers

Yanni

IF that headset-mic does the job, you could always solder some mini-jack adapter to lumberg of your headset and use a proper high-quality mic.
I said if because i haven't tested that sollution yet, but it should work like a charm

yanni dont be scared....you have to use some inginuity and be brave....go get a high quality mic from tandy or maplin's
make the minijack for ur phone...and off you go
reports awaaaaaay

thanks guys for all your help. I am no wiz with mics, cables, and the like but I will give it a go anyway. I will let you know about the results

thanks again

Hi guys,

I just found a microphone that might do the job.

http://www.dabs.com/123XMF

You can have a look and let me know what you think. The only catch now is changing the adaptor in order to make it fit to the siemens one.

Would anybody know if there is an extra adaptor that I could attach to the regular one in order to make it fit? If not then I assume that I would need to basically cut the siemens adaptor from my handsfree headphones and attach it to the microphone.

How difficult is that? And how would you do it?

thanks

Yanni

it isn't diffecult, I can tell you but don't have time to write it now, so I will write it later...promised.

I`m looking for the A50 handsfree schematic.
I have the A50 pinout, but how to make the phone switch to hands-free?

Thanks.
