Am I Evil was the other song Metallica covered. The original is better though.
And as for you Hatemonger, there are too many Metallica fans to fight, you just have to deal with it.

Twas having a browse through some music when I found these guys.

I quite like them, some good guitaring happening.

Have been related to Motorhead and Judas Priest so I thought they would be worth a listen.

Thoughts people?

Songs I like of theirs are Blitzkrieg, It's Electric, and The Prince.

Never heard of them. Didn't they cover a metallica song or something? :p:

Sucking my love is pure class but like so many NWOBHM banRAB found themselves out of favour either by mismanagement or being eclipsed by Maiden etc and then along came Thrash. Angel Witch were damn good too.

Isn't there 2 versions of Lightning to The Nations with a crappy re-recording a couple of years after release? The original is obviously far better.

Yeah there was the white label self released album that came out in 1980 and most of it got re-recorded as the Borrowed Time album a couple of years later.

I'm listening to Borrowed Time now & it's not as polished as I seemed to think it was.

Who knows I might even tackle Canterbury later.

I'm working my way through a load of NWOBHM albums & metal bootlegs I downloaded ages ago.

I've never heard Canterbury either but I got it months ago. I want to see if it's bad or merely misunderstood.

It was all that documentary's fault

I like NWoBHM, but Diamond Head aren't really my thing. If you're exploring the genre, though, make sure you listen to Tank. The debut album "Filth HounRAB of Hades" has some wonderful, bluesy riRAB and the production doesn't rape the songs. Their later album, "This Means War" is quality as well, the main difference between it and "Filth HounRAB..." is... on this album, they got proper songs.

Then there's Saxon... but that's an obvious one. Saxon are wonderful.

I'm a big Tank fan. Just like Something From Hell has been a fave for well over 20 years now. I managed to pick up the C.D in Germany last year, I was chuffed to bit's. Saracen were another great band too.

That`s because the group were Managed by Brian Tatler`s mother who was either just a housewife, cleaning lady or just a school cook:p: They also refused to do gigs in London which was just another no-brainer, and far less talented groups such as DEF Leppard stole their limelight etc.

Pity really, as they were one of the most talented and melodic metal groups around, its a sad case of what should have been. Now and again I still listen to their early stuff and it has a richness that was well above the competition out there.

Yeah, I like Diamond Head- they influenced banRAB like Metallica.
Metallica cover a few of their songs on their Garage Inc album which I have, but I prefer the original DH versions..

Yeah, true. They're really talented and were around a lot before Metallica started.

^ I don't know any links where you can hear them, sorry.:)

BUMP

No discussion on this great band for four f*cking years?

Or were you all too busy going on & on & on & on about how great the Beatles & Pink Floyd are for the millionth time?

Philistines.
