Detox and seizures

I'm having a very bad 24 hours right now and this afternoon I called a substance abuse clinic and also the substance abuse hot line provided by my insurance company. I explained to them the withdrawals I was having and how I have been tapering down.

One concern that both brought up was the possibility of having a seizure during detoxing when I was having the withdrawals so severely. Has anyone heard of this or know of someone having a seizure? Just curious.

By the way... I'm feeling a little better right now and I'm more in control of my emotions.

I've been reading your posts and am sorry you are having such a rough time.
I especially like your "My name is Oxy".

I'm not familiar with seizures during detox but it would not surprise me. I take clonazapam for anxiety. It's the one drug my GP will prescribe for me. It's really an anti-seizure med but prescribed for anxiety and panic attacks. I've been taking it for years. It doesn't give me any kind of buzz like ativan does, just helps bring my anxiety down a notch.It is considered addictive, but for me it's nothing I crave any more than I would crave my Zoloft for depression. Maybe you should ask your doc for some - brand name is Klonapin (or something like that).
