desperately seeking anime title

I use to rent a certain anime video over and over when I was a little girl, and now for the life of me I can't find it. It was about a boy who was taking into a fairy world. It had a beautiful femail fairy and little black fairy with glowing eyes. I thought the name was "Fairies" or "Faeries" but I am having no luck. Can anyone help? I think it was made in the 70's or 80's.
