:(:(So, for 10 months now i have had constant pain in both of my buttocks, thighs, and hamstrings, and lower back...I hurt so so much on a daily basis and at the end of my day i cry myself to sleep, but its only interrupted when i move to my right side cause the pain increases. I have a small herniation of a disc but after injections, chiropractor visits, and even MUA nothing is better...I suffered a sever kidney infection about 3 weeks ago which is claimed to be gone but this only increased my pain ever since...i am tired i feel like i am somehow making up my pain cause the doctors cant isolate what the issue truley is...the last version is its herniation (3mm L5) withreferreed pain..What does this really mean? I ever since this has started i also have my hot/cold flashes and the palms of my hanRAB turn red....sometimes my whole body turns red like a sunburn..Just providing all the facts...Any pointers will be helpful.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

You sound a lot like me. My pain started 5.5 months ago. Since then the pain has gone from an annoyance to horrible, I need to go to the ER type of pain. It is in my lower back middle and to the left, left groin, and down my left leg. It is the worst in the evenings and at night. I cannot find a comfortable position to sleep in. I have also cried myself to sleep. I went to Urgent Care last week where they did x-rays and saw that I have Spondylolisthesis. I have a fracture in my lurabar spine which has caused a vertabrae to slip out of place. Along with this comes a herniated disc. I am currently taking Neurontin for nerve pain, and vicodin for breakthrough pain. I am having an MRI tomorrow to see the soft tissue damage. Have you seen an orthopedic specialist? Or just your regular doctor? You obviously need some additional treatment since all the conservative approaches have failed. 10 months is a long time to deal with that. I assume you've had an MRI since they diagnosed you with a herniated disc. How about an x-ray?

i did have an x ray but it was pretty fuzzy. i do share alot of the same things you are and am currently going to a neurologist who specializes in back pain. he recently ordered a MRI with contrast but the tech said he found no herniated disc...but my pain doctor said there is still one...this is all just frustrating, i am glad to hear im not alone in the frustrating causes...Oh...i ran a half marathon in january untill then i had no pain.

But i am sorry you are going through this too...guess we just have to keep trudging

Yes its been a long road of frustration for me as well! I have been to my regular Dr. twice plus one phone call, my gyn twice, urgent care, and a pain specialist. Tomorrow I have an MRI, and next week I see an orthopedic plus start physical therapy. I just want answers and I want to feel better. It really affects my quality of life. I have a 13 month old, and lately I've felt like such a bad mom because I don't feel like taking her to the park and chasing her around the house anymore. Hopefully we will both get this figured out and SOON!

Oh dear...I am so sorry! I do not have a child but i do have a 11 month old niece, the other day when i was babysitting i couldnt pick her up off the floor because my back wouldnt well function....I just cried cause that killed me cause i couldnt get to her when she was crying....I wouldnt be able to handle that all the time, now i wont even be alone with her cause i would hate for something to happen. Good luck with the MRI tomorrow! Should i go to the orthopedic person as well?

Yes I would. It's better to go to a specialist for this type of thing. All the other doctors I have seen has gotten me no where. Ask your regular Dr. for a referral, because often times you have to wait awhile to get it.

Okay so i got my latest MRI results and it does show a 1mm bulge still...How come i feel like its still the same? I still hurt the newest addition to my MRI is a congenital anomaly it also states that where the S1 and S2 roots show that they are conjoined and exit near the root sleeve from the thecal sac....It create an asymmetric appearance of the anatomy...what the heck does this mean? can this be the cause of my problems on top of everything else?
