in interphase (the first phase of mitosis), all the organelles, including the DNA are replicated. this double set of information is held in the same cell until cytokinesis occurs, in which the cytoplasm of the somatic cell splits in two. each new cell ends up with the same exact replicated dna and organelles as the other.
