I am 22 years old. my question is, I been taking suboxone for three weeks which I had to pay for because my insurance won't cover it, so I stop taking it for 6 days and now I feel very sad, lonely, not eating, skin peeling especially in my face, heart beating fast, anti-social, stomach pain along with consant bowel movement and depress. I would like to know if the medication is causing me to feel this way.

Yeah, you are probably in withdrawals from stopping suddenly!

Try to keep yourself hydrated and maybe call your Dr. and see if they have any other suggestions for you!!!

Hang in there and keep us posted!

Hello Patricia

Welcome aboard. It is good to see you here.

Withdrawal from suboxone is just as difficult as from any opiate ( suboxone does have an opiate in it). What you descibe, except for the skin deal, were all things that occured for me as I withdrew from Oxycodone. It is not the medication, but the withdrawal from it, that causes these symptoms.

Were you on the suboxone to get off another opiate? Many of the physical symptoms will slowly pass in a couple of weeks. The depression and anxiety are things that passed very slowly and took great effort to corabat. However, it CAN be done! Stay with us. Post your concerns, questions, and share your own story as you are comfortable.

Wishing you all the best
