I recently purchased a laptop from a friend who dropped it. The screen was the only thing noticeably wrong - It was bright, but had colored lines. We could see outlines of the program boxes and the cursor, but you couldn't make out wording(Worked fine on External screen). We ordered a new screen from eBay, that fit all of the specs. of the original screen. We replaced it according to a manual found from on the internet from Dell. After all was said and done, turned on the laptop and nothing appeared. Then faint images appeared, but soon went completely dark. It still works fine on external screen. Could this be the invertor? Video Card? What are the other possibilites and what can we do?
