Delineating quotes in a story?

Hi, I'm currently writing a short story where a character has a monologue strewn throughout the story. It continues, and comes back at different points in the story. He is talking to someone, but that person never replies. Is there anyway to do this with proper punctuation without just putting quotation marks? I'm afraid some readers may get lost, even though the character has a pretty distinct voice.

Any help would be great.
