Deleting email account from Nokia E71?

I am trying to delete the one email account i have on my phone. I have followed the instructions which other people have requested online, but i don't have the option to delete mine? If i go into messaging, press options, select settings, then scroll down and select email, and then all it says is .. mailbox in use, then in the box beneath, which i assume should have my email address in says the word 'none'. Therefore meaning no mailbox is in use? But my email account is still on my front screen and i still receive emails through. Please help, your advice is defo needed. Thanks
