Delete Widgets

As usual, the manual makes no sense, or is VERY inadequate. It tells you that if you don't have enough space on your screen that you will have to delete a widget, but NOWHERE does it tell you HOW to delete a widget, and after playing with the phone for a half hour (it's my wife's phone), I can't figure out how to delete a widget. The incompetence of technical writers never ceases to amaze me. Telling somebody that they NEED to do something but NOT telling them HOW to do it is par for the course for technical writers.

Anyway, can somebody please tell me the steps I need to take to delete a widget?

Never mind. Finally figured it out. For those who don't know, press and hold the widget till it slightly gets bigger, then drag to the gray bar at the bottom, and while it's red, let it go.
