someone asked me to define what martial art is in a simple 1 paragraph explanation. And here is what I said
Defining martial arts......
To me, martial arts training is the human drama. Through martial arts you experience a lot of hard work (sometimes to the point of burnout),defeat, victory, wisdom, physical growth, happiness, disappointment, which is all seen in everyday life, but with a much different mindset. Martial arts lets you experience so much. And these principles are not prejudice to a certain style. All hardworking martial artists share a common bond through these victories and losses. Martial arts is just an expression of oneself through combat exercises. No different than singing or painting
how do you define it?
