Defensive RTS pc game?

Alright well this is an odd question, but I'm hoping to find some decent rts games that fit what I enjoy. First off I am not interested in Starcraft2, it is too rush like for me. I like rts games that can drag on for hours. I really enjoyed Stronghold Crusader, and Extreme, they are old and I have hundreds of hours in them so i'm looking to find something new. The main reason I liked Stronghold so much is, you are able to build a castle and strong defense line and hold off on the aggression and still be able to win and the fact that a single troop is basically useless on it's own so you can't win (or lose) with a small group attack. Ok well enough of that, I doubt many people have really gotten into Stronghold so here's what i'm looking for. Able to drag a game on for a very long time (not all games) , playing fully defensively a viable option, lots of building and gathering/producing, and not required but another bonus would be mass amounts of units on the field instead of very few. Graphics are a huge part for me. Stronghold is the worst by far I play, graphics wise. So something newer would be nice. That's about it, if you know anything or a good way to search for something I might enjoy any info will be helpful. Thanks
