Defective Acculign Lever Pegs?

I just got my Acculigns installed today, and this happened to my shifter peg while I was shifting into neutral.

Looks like a manufacturing defect; I am working with Scott on this issue and will keep everyone posted.

Scott was extremely surprised when he saw the pictures. He stated that he has never had a returned part for Acculign... ever.

He forwarded the pictures to the owner of Acculign for review, and mentioned that the owner takes QA extremely seriously and might contact me for more information on the peg.

In the mean time, a replacement peg will be shipped in the morning.

Thanks Scott! I must say that I am very impressed by your level of customer service.

Very interesting break, looks more like a joined piece than a billet piece. Glad to hear Scott is taking care of biz, gotta love the stand-up shops!

I think you're right about it being bonded piece -- the break is too clean to be a fracture. If so, I must say I am surprised at the choice in manufacturing since the shift lever is typically subject to a fair amount of abuse.

that is not a break, it is where the bond broke and is plain wrong IMO, very dangerous

hope it gets worked out and please show the new peg pic B4 you stand on it and i have a feeling it might be visable if the new one is bonded too

Will do. FWIW, the peg on the rear brake lever looks identical to the peg on the shifter. Honestly, I am concerned if that piece is bonded too.
