Decline in communication skills?

Ok well here is the problem.. my language/verbal skills are seemingly declining... Ive noticed it since the beginning of this year... and this year was actually my first year of high school, Im not sure what is wrong... but as the months have progressed it seems as if my verbal communication has gone down... I really don't know why.. I have researched it many times but I cannot get a clear cut answer as to what it is... but I have ruled out a lot of things.. just some background information, I am quite good in literature, I love to write and give speeches (I do quite well in literature) I have also seen a decline in my speaking abilities. But it seems as if I am losing those skills. I am trying not to worry and hope its only temporary but I really don't know for sure and my mother says that its natural, I seem to think different. If anyone has even the slightest clue please help.
