Debating: Should I let my 13 year old into the delivery room?

I am trying to figure out if I should let my 13 year old into the delivery room with me. She says that she wants to be there, but I'm afraid that it will scare her. How many of you have let younger children into the delivery room with you?
 
I have seen 4 year olds handle it well. Ive seen 10 year olds freak the heck out. Most of it depends on how the mom is acting. If you are freaked,they will be. Think about how you handled your first time around. Think about if you can remain calm for her/him to keep calm. But they all love the end result, seeing the baby for the first time.........
 
have her watch one of those labor and delivery shows on TV, if she can handle it and still wants to go with you, then let her. Even ask her if she has any questions after watching the show, so you can get that all out of the way before your turn in the hospital.. I think it would be a great bonding experience between your daughter, your baby, and you if she went!

Hopefully it will scare her silly into not wanting to have sex and possibly get pregnant. But even if she doesn't end up going to the hospital with you, all the fun of a new baby, the keeping you up at night, crying their eyes out, etc. may be birth control enough! :)

well,... 13 i think is the prefect age. if you scare her good, maybe that will make her wait to have sex. i do hope you have had the talk with her about sex and stuff. i think as long as she has the maturity and is emotionally ready then yes let her in. if she gets freaked she can leave and go wait in the waiting room. she might get freaked about seeing you in pain.. so be prepared and let her know what is gonna happen.
 
It depends if she can handle it or not. I couldn't but she may be stronger and able to handle those intense moments.
 
I think its a great idea. With teenagers doing stuff younger and younger these days. Not saying she is but I'm sure that would motivate her not to open her legs for a while lol/
 
IMO I would let her! Many benefits could come from this! 13 is just getting to that stage of where sex becomes a curiosity factor...and watching mom have a baby is a wonderful experience at 13 i think!
