I can't decide between two laptops. Basically I multi-task a lot, would like a larger screen, travel between friends house with it, and play video games on it: Sims 2, Age of Empires, World of Warcraft, Spore.

HP Laptop is $699:
17inch screen, heavier, up to 1980 video memory, AMD X2 processor 2.1ghz, 320gigs memory, more affordable. Upgradeable to 8gigs of ram

Sony VAIO - $809
16.4inch screen, lighter, up to 1700ish video memory, Intel Core Duo2 processor 2.0ghz 250gigs memory, it's a bit more expensive but the dvd drive in there can play blurays. Ram is maxed out and not upgradeable

I don't really need the bluray player but it might be nice. I heard AMD processors are good for multitaskers and gamers, but Intel Core 2 are good as well. I like Sony's sleek design and this one has buttons for video playing. Both come with HDMI ports. I'm not really sure if the Sony is worth the extra $110 for the bluray player since I don't really need one right now. I was moreso looking at the Sony for speed, durability, and lasting me.

We have a Sony VAIO and we love this labtop. We paid $1199,and it was worth every dime spent. It has so many features much like the ones you listed above. We love how it can play blurays. The one we have is upgradeable. It is a full HD1080p.I love it,just love it!!!!!
