Debate Topic Help?

"Be it resolved that in order to combat childhood obesity, the United States Government should require all school cafeterias to post the nutritional and caloric values of menu items."

That's the topic my friend and I have (JV, 6th grade). We're AFFIRMITIVE. So far, we don't have too much info.. but a little help would be appreciated.

Poor devil. Who's the nitwit who drempt that idea up? Yes indeed! I remember my school aged kids so well! All the time reading nutritional labels. Many times, when the sugars or fats were too high, they would crunch on a carrot, instead of ice cream. Yeah, right.

THe only thing I can say in favor, is that at least you're (forced) debate position consists of giving information -- take it or leave it. Not holding a gun to their heads to force them to eat right.

P.S. my kids were all healthy, thin jocks. But they ate like locusts.
