Do you think that the debate over economic globalization affects latin american countries? Why or why not, i am curious to know

Oh definitely - look at how many structural adjustment policies they have been forced to implement by the IMF - I also believe several LA countries threatened to default on their loans due to the unfair arrangements - and I believe one LA country has now actually withdrawn from the World Bank system as it believes present financial crises are going to end up costing developing countries money :-)

Obviously there are ALWAYS 2 sides to a debate question where the affirmatives (yes side) and the Negations (no side) are in balance of an answer. Why you are curious to know, maybe for homework or whatever, I'm just saying that your curiousity is really specific. I honestly think that globalization has numerous scales and effected latin america equally in a bad and good way. So here is the affirmative and negative sides of economic globalization's affect on Latin America overall.

Good

Employment and trade places latin american countries on the stock market. They are still developed countries and are the strong firmhold to other nations including the U.S. Government is properly established, for example Hugo Chavez supposively stepping down from his position or young people unaware of Cuba's communism wanting to take over. Possibilities and communication is effective in these latin american countries and are not tribes taht in constant conflict.

Bad
The workers are not benifited as much as those in the upper classes of Latin American countries. Globalization has a price for being maintained, where the lower classes happen to be the ones paying for it. Basic neccessities are sometimes lacking and the government does not have proper leadership or laws to rid that problem.

So there it is, somewhat short and sweet. As far as I know, it globalization effects are good to a certain extent, but they are not destroying latin America. If anything, more legislation has been passed down, so hurray. Sorry if I sound too neutral, but I just wanted to clarify it for those who also wanted to answer this question.
