Debaffling the C/M 50

I have seen the video, given many hours of thought here. I have all the tools to do this mod and not cost $1.

The question is....has anyone suffered a mechanical failure or any mechanical issues after this mod. I live in Texas, it can get hot, the bike is lean already and I worry. I have 2 years left of a 3 year mechanical warrranty.

Imput please......

Where is the best place to by a second set of stock C50 exhaust pipes? The board or Ebay?

I drilled 8 holes in my back plates and Love the sound. My friends all say it sounds good not to loud but you can still hear it really good when you get on it.

I was also wondering about this issue. I'm bout to debaffle mine and cut a small hole in the bottom of the chrome intake casing to increase airflow (done tried the spacer trick and wouldn't quite work with the K&N Air Filter). I wasn't sure if taking out the back plate and baffles would cause a loss in pressure and cause backfires or decreased performance. Any input on this?

I debaffled mine yesterday......thet dealers will tell you this

With no back pressure there is no tuneabilty for the EFI
The sound is kick ass, the mod is easy and it runs just FINE if not better.....

DO IT TODAY, you'lll be glad u did

I started by just drilling the 4 holes in each exhaust then about a month later I debaffled, I ran the bike that way for about 7500 miles with no problems other than I still couldn't hear my bike over my riding buddies. I put on the V&H cruisers about three weeks ago and I am running them without baffles.

They can hear me now.......:b-rock:

Mines been debaffled and demickeyed for awhile now...I've probably got 13,000mi + since I ripped everything out. There have been no side effects, sounds good, runs fine, easy mod, why wait?

i drilled 4 holes in the back plate and it sounded like its was a flutter...

so debaffled it today and OMG lovin the sound... i cant tell if there is a HP loss but if there is it will only be like 1hp ...

Well, I bought all the tools I needed that I couldn't find at my dad's house and I'm ready to debaffle, lower, and light up my bike with my new LED kit... too bad I got the Marine Corps Ball this weekend, so itll probably be mid next week before I get it all done but when i do.. I'll post some nice pics

The only problem I found with the previous owner drilling holes in the baffles is that the top holes make the heat too much for my right turn signal, chrome/plastic and it is burning a hole in it and has turned it black.

The right turn signal gets burned anyway. I found that when I initially drilled my pipes. I debaffled and fibrosleeved a couple thousand miles ago and it runs and sounds great.

Yea, I've been experiencing that problem with no modifications to the pipes. My dern right marker light in the back has turned black fromt he exhaust and hitting it. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

I did mine just to stage one, mickeys are still in place ,, not having any prob at all, also installed K&N filter and stock air breather no mod's and no prob,, my blinkers are fine and I have Black painted pipes looks great !!!

Are the rear blinkers on the C down lower on the fender. I'm not having this issue with my M, I'm assuming it's because the blinkers are above and slightly behind the end of the exhaust.

Then again it could be the synthetic blinker fluid and custom made chrome whammy bar....:lol4:

I discovered that using Mobil 1 synthetic blinker fluid with antiseizing additives made my blinkers blink faster with less stalls, however.... I still have black soot on them. After cleaning them off... I found slight burn damage... not much, but enough. I was planning on replacing them with some aftermarkets blinkers but thats not likely to happen until I figure out a way to end this annoying problem.
