Death in family while in boot camp?

My boyfriend is in navy boot camp at great lakes il. and his sister told me their grandpa isn't doing to well hes in the hospital very sick.She thinks it will turn out bad. If something bad happens like god forbid but he passes away does he get to come home for the funeral or no bc of boot camp? His family was wondering, what would happen? Thank you
