Looks a really good-and emotional film.

Based on the book, it's about a couple who meet unexpectedly when Tatum's character serves in the army.

I'm not sure what the ending is, however i've heard it's from the makers of 'the notebook' so if so, i'm guessing it's sad.

The book is so so good, its worth reading just for the ending, not what I was expecting at all but it had me in tears!

I hate the fact that they've changed the films ending though

Oh have they? I hate it when they do that but as i havn't read the book I wouldn't know.

Its kinda hard to explain without spoiling anything so I'll put it in tags if you want to read it

In the book no-one dies but the film they do. In the book when John goes to war the main girl Savannnah gets with this guy named Tim, John comes back from the war to find out that they're together only Tim gets cancer and they think he's going to die, Tim tells John that he wants him to look after Savannah when he dies and John realises that even though he really loves her, true love is when you sacrifice your happiness for someone else's so he anonymously pays for Tim to have treatment and Tim gets better. So they never actually get together at the end of the book but in the film they kill Tim off.
