From Tellico Plains you can take Hwy 360 to Hwy 129 " The Dragon" through Deal's Gap and back to Tellico Plains by The Cherhola Skyway, a 120 mile loop.
That route is from Hunt's Lodge Motorcycle Campground at www.huntslodge.com they are local and know all the best routes as well as the less traveled areas.

My wife & I just got back from a week long ride to Deals Gap; we stayed at a Best Western (Harley Discount) in Maggie Valley, NC. Nice town, but everything closes @ 9pm.

Ad in full throttle magazine says they are biker friendly and offer bike washing area with rags etc... biker owned and operated.

Cherohala Skyway by Joyce Kilmer Forest to Hwy 129 T/L to Deals Gap or right onto Hwy 28 to Fontana Lake. Cross Hwy 74. Contiune on 28 too Franklin NC. Then T/R on 441 to the Dillard House Resturant! Whew!!!! I'm tired and hungry already!! The problem is that there are just so many roads in this area to chose from. Get into this area and the possibilites are endless!!! Tarbaby

Anybody that hit Dillard House for either Breakfast or Lunch take a hammock with ya cause you gonna need a nap when your done eating!
That place puts on the feed bag man!!
