Just a quick heads-up.

All three on TCM / 2 tonight

TCM 2
8pm Rawhide series 1, 1/22;
9pm Bonanza Series 1, 1/32

TCM 11pm Deadwood series 1, 1/12.

All three appear to be on nightly.

Enjoy!:)

Just spotted this thanks for the heads up on Deadwood it's repeated around 2am also.

PS There doesn't appear to be a series link so you will have to set it every day if you want to watch it.

Well I decided to watch Rawhide to see if I could get into it and I will give it another go tonight.

I didn't expect to sit through the whole episode of Bonanza (as I had seen some episodes elsewhere recently) but ended up enjoying it.

It's a shame they're on nightly as it would be difficult to allocate every night 8-10. (I suppose I could cancel Sky Movies for the next 6 months).

At least they're in SD so recording wont take up too much space.

As you say, Deadwood is also on later (and I note 10 minutes shorter, so presumably shorter / no adverts)?

No series link - yeah, that's a bit of a nuisance as I'm bound to forget at some point.

Anyway, thanks to TCM for resurrecting these and giving them decent slots.

A movie channel showing normal TV shows? Is this going to be a MTV type of situation where the main focus of the channel takes a break to make way for new, "nothing to do with the focus of the channel" programming?

Rawhide-on TCM every day (including Saturday and Sunday) at 3.00pm,repeated the same evening at 8.00pm on TCM2 and again the following morning on TCM at 7.00am.

Bonanza-same details but the times are 4.00pm,9.00pm and 8.00am.

What I have done is set the 1st one then just press the +24 hrs button and set as many as I can in advance so hopefully I will remember when it gets a few days down the line and are more likely to remember to do it again. :)

A small correction to my earlier post, the times for the morning repeat of the previous days episodes are 7.00am and 7.50am (not 8.00am as I said),looks like minimal/no adverts in these showings, especially since Rawhide episodes are forty nine minutes.

Incidently last night when I went to set a couple more days of Deadwood recording on my V+ I noticed that the series link option had finally turned up.

A once great movie channel continues to deteriorate. Oh, for the days of a wide variety of rarely seen vintage movies (DoGs in the black bands not over the picture) in their full widescreen ratios uninterrupted by ads........or even episodes of telly programmes.

Maybe their viewing figs are low because Sky moved TCM & TCM2 to the Style & Culture package some years ago.

It used to be a free movie channel, but now unless you pay for all those DIY & Travel channels beginning around channel 240, you don't get it, although it's grouped with the movie channels.

Why on earth a movie channel is in that pack is beyond me

Presumably TCM decided they wanted get some money off sky by being in a pack and encrypting rather than be FTA, as I understand it it's more expensive to be FTA than in a sky pack and encrypted, (I don't agree with it but that's down to sky and the regulator to sort out) so TCM presumably decided they would rather be in the Lifestyle and Culture pack rather than the movies pack otherwise they could have moved long since.

And if they were in the movies pack no doubt they probably never would have shown these series,or if they did no doubt the board would be full of complaints about a channel showing regular television series which could only be watched by those with a movie subscription. Especially when the majority of younger people will have never seen Rawhide and/or Bonanza before. Rawhide is the main part of Clint Eastwoods work that I have never seen,so I'm grateful to TCM for giving me the opportunity to do so.

The Deadwood episode at 11pm has missed the ending on my sky+ box for Wednesday and Thursday's episodes (haven't watched Friday's yet), looks like I may be better off taping the 2am version or taping whatever follows it. :(

Another option is to set a manual record - repeating daily. The downside to this is that you loose the EPG information for that episode and if it moves time slot your screwed. The upside is you can stick however long you want on either end and you don't need to remember to add it an episode at a time to your planner.
