Dead T3

I'm mildly bemused, as I cannot get into my T3.

Symptoms:

1) Couldn't switch the thing on (assumed battery died overnight - worrying but not too bad)

2) get to work on put it on the cradle:

3) it won't sync
4) switch it on and i can see the input section and the white apps screen, but no apps icons, and its completely unresponsive
5) briefly see a screen saying that key lock is activated, click on "deactivate keylock" and it goes to the screen described at 4 above.

Any suggestions? I'm happy to accept that I'm missing something quite simple.

Thanks,

Assuming you've done a soft reset and the same occurs - you'll have to do a hard reset. But this sounds as if either the brightness setting is full on and bleached the screen - which if you can see the bottom menu bar tap on the clock to bring up the slider - of if the bottom bar is not there - it's broken.

Will need to be replaced? Try resets and report back.

its not a brightness thing - can still see the menu bars at the bottom. Have gone for a hard reset, irritatingly.

Just got to sort out the apps on there and get rid of the dodgy one...

Hi , I also have the same problem :-(
I just get a blue screen. I tried to hot sync some thing and guess it was incompatible ..
So what do I do now? Please help. I have to access my address book urgently.
thanks ,
Amar

This is what you do. First do a hard reset then if it fixes it put it on the hotsync cradle/cable BUT DO NOT SYNC! Then go into My computer > Program files > Palm > your username > then go into your backup files. Then look at your hotsync log and anything that you installed in the last 3-4 hotsync?s. Take the program out that you installed lately 3-4 hotsync?s out of the backup folder and put it on your desktop or another folder. Then you can sync again and if it happens again hard reset go to your backup folder and delete all unwanted and files that look like it could mess something up. Then hotsync again and repeat the process tell you get it working again. Tell us what happens?

HI Please can you tell me how to do a hard reset. Sorry if this is an elementary stupid question. I tried to find this answer in old postings but could not find.
regards

Ok this is how to do a hard reset. First you open your T/T2/T3 and push the reset button with your stylus but at the same time push the power button and hold it down tell a screen comes up. When the screen comes up to hard reset push the "up" button on the 5-way and she will do a hard reset.

TL --- Sorry for the grammar and spelling I am on my laptop and got a very slow interet speed (9.6) and I got no spell checker and the keys are a bit stiff. I got a KDS Valaint bought in 2002 SO OLD !!!

Your a palm newbie are you ?

I have the same problem. This is the second T3 that it has happened to. On the first one, I thought it was the battery, so I tried replacing the battery myself (unsuccessfully). So I bought a used T3. Now it's doing the same thing. At first, I thought I had a corrupted file causing the issue, and would remove apps one by one until the problem disappeared (a soft reset generally brought it back to life). The problem has now gotten much worse. It's at the point that I have done a hard reset and the unit does the same thing after the hard reset. I infer from this that the problem is not a corrupted file, but maybe a battery issue after all. Any ideas anyone?
