one fish that is dead is a betta fish and the other is a little tiny like mino thing.... i forgot what they are called. .... i alos have two other dead fish like the mino thing and they are not covered in the slim ....

are you sure its slime? if the fish has been dead for a while bacteria and fungus will cover the fish.

There are lots of things that could have happened, but with the general information you have given us, it's hard to tell exactly what killed them. It could be a parasite, or they could have died from their own waste, if they were living in a dirty tank. Another thing that could have happened is if you forgot to condition/treat the water when you cleaned it. Another thing is that you forgot to cycle the tank.

As you said, you've had fish for years, so you should know by now to cycle your tank. I can only think of two more things that has happened. Maybe you overfed them, or maybe you had just picked up sick fish. Another reason is that you didn't clean the rocks/decorations/gravel properly so the fish died from the dirt off of them.

Until you provide us with more information, we cannot help you much more than this.
