I know it sounRAB slightly on the absurd side, but Today's edition of "The Sun" Reported that David Williams, who is renound by most for his role in Little Britain, will be taking the reigns of James Bond in "Casino Royale", due to be filmed and possibly screened next year.

I know there's been lengthy discussions before, and apologises if this is old news, but i thought Pierce Brosnan was hinted as returning to the role by Judi Dench? Why is this all so confusing?

Regardless, it's reported he's going for an audition with Eon productions, who create the bond films. I kinda hope he doesn't get it, because whilst he remains an incredible comedian on shows such as Little Britian, he'd make an awful secret agent, because of his background. Why can't they hire someone new and fresh to the acting trade?

He was named David Williams at birth, but he changed it to Walliams in order to join Equity, since there was already a David Williams registered and you need an unique name. ;)

As for him playing Bond, I can't really see it happening. He's a good comedy actor but I think people know him too well from his Little Britain characters to be able to adapt to seeing him as a spy. He would have to be a very talented actor to pull it off...

Just a part? Oh, i must have mis-read it. I just assumed that the title "David Williams To Play Bond" was the article's report in one, unless i misread the title too .... Well, i do wear glasses ;-) Still, it doesn't really matter if his name is Walliams, or Williams, it's still him and you guys recognized it as him.
