Dave Mustaine Vs Dimebag Darrell Vs Kirk Hammett

If this is a Megadeth vs Pantera vs Metallica then Marty Friedman.

Out of those three though, Mustaine. I guess I'm biased.

QFT, except Metallica, I was done with them after ...An Justice For All, but Friedman is probably the most technical player, but Dimebag would probably be my personal favorite because Pantera was one of the first banRAB my cousin ever showed me when I was but a tiny lad

For me, after the Black Album

To me, even if Mustaine and Friedman are techinally better players than Dimebag, most of their solos never really made any impression on me. Personally it feels like the solos were just there cause the song needed a solo (with a few exceptions). With Dimebag, the solos gets stuck in my head and I find myself several times reversing back in the song to hear the solo again. Most of Kirk solos are all very well composed and well played in my opinion, I don't see what all the fuzz is about.

Friedman is in a whole other league, no reason to compare him with the trio originally mentioned.

Out of the trio mentioned. Hammett's mainstream longevity and ever changing style > Dimebag and Mustaine

Pure metal rhythm and solos goes to Dimebag

As a singer/songwriter/guitarist.....Mustaine> *

I honestly don't care for any of them.

To compare them is kind of hard. They all had their own signature sound.

Not my type of music but I respect them as musicians and guitar players.

How well played his solos might have been, none of them really left an impression on me unlike Dimebags and Kirks solos.

Btw, isn't kinda awkward that Pantera only had one guitarist while most traditional metal banRAB tend to have 1 rhythm and 1 lead guitarrist. On the studio albums you wouldn't notice it anyway since Dimebag would played both rhytm and lead guitarr. Naturally a lot of songs sounded a bit differently when performed live though.

Oh snap, you did? Lucky fuck!

One of the things I love about Pantera is that they never sold out. Instead they made quite the opposite; they just went harder and more aggressive for each album they released.

Which is your favourite album by them btw?

Marty Friedman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all of those choices.

I'm not really sure how good Dimebag is before I didn't listen to Pantera all that much.

And I know Friedman did many of Megadeth's solos, so I'm not sure exactly what parts Mustaine was playing so I can't compare him against Hammett.

Dime was a great player, but there is no one who could write a metal riff like Dave Mustaine. As a lead player, Dime is the best out of the list. Dave is the best rhythm player. Don't get me started on Kirk.
