Daughter freaked out when I made a joke...?

Well I am engaged to be married. My daughter and I are starting to move into his house. My daughter is getting the attic made into an apartment and everything. She has two dogs of her own, that she is responciple for. So I woul say she has everything she wants at the moment. Today I was in teh grocery store with her, and I saw my friend and she made a joke about marrying some one else because he was really handsome. My daughter freaked out when I responded to this joke and she said about she can't believe how I bounce from guy to guy and now that I finally found the one i am marrying how I can joke about such things.. I dont know why she is acting like this.. She is 14.
 
she's having trouble dealing with getting a new step dad, and she's going to tell you anything at this point to make you feel bad and feel guilty even though you shouldn't. it's the age she's at right now, and she will eventually adjust to the changes. another possibility, she realy likes the guy your about to marry and doesn't want to think of you trying to find another guy. but overall, it's just the age and the changes she's going through emotionally. trust me, it'll all be alright. just explain to her how you were joking and you didn't mean anything by it and you love the guy you are with.
