I am currently looking at my wireless essentials on my rogers account online, and i scroll to the bottom of the page and see

You're getting credited for data usage, so it should be unlimited data until May 11th if I'm reading that correctly.

Thats exactly what it is indeed. When you first signup for a 3years data plan, your first 3 months are unlimited. 2years = 2months. 1 year = 1 month.

The reason we offer that is so people can signup for the cheapest one to start with and monitor their usage for three months so they can know what kind of data plan they will need when the unlimited period ends .
 
No when you cancel the data plan the data usage bonus goes away.
Are you aware of the fact that you will be paying a DECF (Data early cancellation fee) up to a maximum of 100$ ?
