data service on blackberry storm 2?

i bought a blackberry storm 2 off my friend and just used my sim card which is a vodafone one. on my old phone i was ablt to connect to the internet and so but i can't connect on my blackberry. i called vodafone and they just said there is a code i need. how exactly do i obtain that code or connect to the internet
