Data question about Google Nexus S?

I'm considering upgrading my android device to the Google Nexus S, however my biggest problem with my current mobile is that there is a small core data section of the phone, then a larger data section for music and movies. Apps by default are downloaded to the small section.

I know the google Nexus S has a 16Gb flash drive, my question is does it also have a smaller core section to the drive for say a few hundred meg to which apps, sms's and other general phone data is used? Or does it just use the 16Gb drive for everything?
I plan to purchase the phone outright so I won't be on a "plan" to which I can return the phone should it not fit my needs.

Also for the chance of differences in the device between markets, I live in Australia.

Just you can manage your phone-memory data and transfer them to memory-card.
Also move all installed application from phone to card from application settings.
