Data plan not compatible with myFaves?

I have the myFaves 300 plan. I’ve decided to give the data plan a try with my 8100. I logged on to my T-Mobile and checked to box to add the BlackBerry Unlimited Add-on for $19.95. On the confirmation screen, it says “Below are the services you have selected to change. Additions or changes to current services will take effect within 24 hours and may result in pro-rated charges on your next bill. “ That’s fine.

It says right under that, “After this change takes place, you will no longer be able to make free calls to your 'my Faves' contacts.” What’s that about? I do a lot of talking to 2/5 people which is why I switched to the myFaves plan. Anyone know what’s up with this? I don’t feel like calling T-Mo if I don’t have to…

That is not right.. your suppose to be able to use myfave and a bb data plan. I would give tmobile a call and get this thing corrected. Maybe it was just a site problem.
 
~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ hey Corey. I have the my favs 300 as well as the data plan. You can still make my favs calls with it. I think tmob is saying that because it will take time to rest your devices mem
 
Hmm, odd. I have MyFaves 300 and the Blackberry Unlimited Add-On with T-Mobile. No problems for me, but I got both plans together with my Pearl at the same time. You're just going to have to call, I think. :-P

Because I’m feeling antisocial today, I just sent them an e-mail. Hopefully I’ll get a reply soon. I’ll post an update when I hear back from them.

Is it possible that you have some kind of "Special Access" plan? I have a dollar limit on my plan (just started building credit) and so can't have MyFaves with the unlimited data plan.
 
Nope. I've been with T-Mobile for 5 years now and I was a Voicestream customer before they became T-Mobile... So, that *shouldn't* be the problem...

I have the same issue but it is because I am on the "smart access plan" for my first year of service. This only allows me plans up to a certain $ amount.
 
it is probably a glitch with the website. if you have the my faves 300 and data add on then it wont change your rate plan. just call 611 and let us do it for you. i work in customer care. i always advise to call when doubts on the website. job security
