data conversion SW

Well folks, need your help,

I desparately need a third party software to convert the pda file extensions on a back media to be converted to the laptops/desktop into MSOffice &Outlook data. Yes, that is what hot synch/intellisync does, without going through the PDA interface. I don't have that option because of pda hw damage, and must convert this data off the pda onto the PCs to be useful.

Thanks for the help!

Did you run Hotsync before your PDA crashed? If yes, you could try using the File Import/Export utility in Palm Desktop to convert your data into a text file (tab-delimited) and then import that file into Outlook.

If the cable connection is broken, you could try synchronizing via Bluetooth. However, your desktop or laptop will need bluetooth functionality before this could be done. You would have to install a Bluetooth USB dongle and its drivers. Also, the HotSync port options would need to be modified so that it has the port assigned to the Bluetooth dongle.

Another option is to beam the data to another PDA using infrared and then sync the working PDA with the computer.

I don't really understand your issue. All the data you last synced should already be in Outlook and Docs to Go on your PC and perfectly useable. If you're saying that you have data on a damaged Palm that you want to get onto your PC then that's not going to work since there's no software that comminicates with a Palm not connected to your PC. Beaming data from one Palm to the another, assuming your damaged Palm is capable of doing so, would be the only answer.

Thanks for the reply. I will look into using Plam desktop- I have import/export option, using the memory card as the device. all of your other suggestions are not viable due to the volume of data involved.

To clarify the situation, no I cannot synch at all- due to the hardware connection in the PDA.

One would think that intellisync would have a version of the utility to handle this situation...
