Hi,

I just bought a data cable from a local cellphone store. I installed it using the cd that came with and it installed the drivers for PL-2303 USB-SERIAL (what it shows up on my program list). And i go to device manger and see that everyting is working fine. I see that it assigned Prolific USB-to-Serial comm Port (COM4) the com port 4 so i go to my phone manger and enable that port and reserver it but it still does not detect my phone. And i am using Mobile Phone Moniter which i got of sony ericsson's website. My phone is a sony ericsson z500a. Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Antar

In your Monitor "unreserve" all ports except COMM4.

Also, I always suggest that you get your drivers from the website. Who knows how long ago the cd was made. The website has the latest versions.

well I don't know about SE world., but with Motorola's my usb cable is either com 3 or 4.

I have the same problem... I cannot figure out how to do anything and the SE website and manual are worthless... all they say is how to synchronize my phonebook..

I want to transfer files, pictures, and the sort, back and forth... I have the cable set up, its on Com 3, it is reserved, and its not reading my phone... I have all the current files from SE website to do the thing, just not reading it...

I am using the
SyncStation_1.5.5.3c.exe
FileManager_2.6.6.0.exe

I found that the File Manager overwrote some settings, and had to correct this by reinstalling the SyncStation software.
