My husband suffers from degenerative disc disease. He has been completely disabled from work for the past 4 years. I'm always looking for ways to improve his quality of life and hopefully get him off of pain meRAB which I'm afraid are doing damage to internal organs.

I have read about a procedure called DASCOR Disc Arthroplasty device. I am wondering if anyone has any information on this or perhaps tried this procedure?

Thanks!

I am also interested in DASCOR. Have you found information on this device?

Summerday,

Dear tracey_416,

Please be so kind and write your husband's exact diagnosis...

Then we can help you.

I have not heard of the DASCOR treatment, but I can comment on the second part of the posters question about the narcotics doing damage to internal organs.

I have been told by several doctors that there have been studies that show that pure narcotics themselves do not damage organs. The tylenol that is corabined with many narcotics (example: vicodin) is what is damaging. This is why many chronic pain patients are on medications that do not contain tylenol. My pain/addiction psychologist told me he has read numerous studies of autopsyies (sp) that were performed on long-term narcotic users and they found no evidence of any internal organ damage. What does cause damage to our bodies is this....untreated chronic pain! This is a documented fact.

Hope this helps.
